Rose Freeman | Consulting & Speaking

An entrepreneur, advocate for resilient leadership and speaker for the people quietly carrying the invisible load that holds everything else together.

"Everything I believe about leadership, I learned the hard way."

Rose didn’t inherit a business. She built one in rural
Saskatchewan, without a map, while life kept asking more of
her than seemed fair.

She secured financing when the odds were against her. She
grew a company while raising young girls with no parental
leave to fall back on. She learned to lead through uncertainty while building a life and a business at the very same time, often with no template for either.

And through some of it, she was also rebuilding herself.

Rose left an abusive relationship and rebuilt her life from the
foundation up, personally and professionally. At the same time, she was growing a company that the rest of the industry would eventually celebrate. She knows what it means to carry something heavy that no one around you can see. She knows what it takes to keep showing up anyway.

Along the way, mentors and advocates saw something in her
before the awards did. They opened doors. They spoke her
name in rooms she wasn’t in yet. That kind of advocacy changed her life and shaped the kind of leader she became for others.

What grew out of all of it was an award-winning organization,
built from a small town most people couldn’t find on a map.

But here’s what Rose wants you to understand about her story:

It was never really about the hardship.

It was always about the possibility on the other side of it.

“While others saw the business growing and the awards being won, they rarely saw the work happening beneath the
surface. I was building something meaningful when there was no blueprint to follow. That s true for almost everyone at some time.”

"My leadership philosophy is rooted in real life."

Rose’s experiences didn’t just shape her business. They shaped a set of beliefs she now carries into every conversation, on every stage and to every team about what leadership should actually look like.

Build without a blueprint. The most meaningful things rarely come with instructions. Rose believes that uncertainty isn’t a reason to wait; it’s the environment where real leaders are made.

Lead with resilience. Resilience isn’t about never struggling. It’s about bending without breaking, adapting through the storm, and getting back up with something learned.

Champion rural innovation. World-class ideas don’t only come from big cities. Some of the most innovative thinking happens in small towns, built by people who had to find a better way because no one was going to hand it to them.

Support people as whole humans. No one leaves their life at the door when they come to work. Rose leads from the belief that when you support the whole person, you get the best of them and they get to keep the rest of their life intact.

Build workplaces where people thrive, not just survive. Rose believes the future belongs to organizations brave enough to rethink what support really means.

When she didn’t see what she needed to build and innovate her business, she created it.

"My way is the Willow Resilient Roots™ way."

A willow tree is known for its resilience. It bends in the wind, adapts to changing conditions, and withstands storms that might break other trees.

Yet its strength doesn’t come from what we see above the surface. It comes from what we don’t see – its roots.

Strong roots create resilient trees.

People are no different.

Throughout her journey as an entrepreneur, mother, leader, and business owner, Rose learned that success is rarely built on what others see. Behind every accomplishment are countless invisible responsibilities, difficult decisions, sacrifices, and challenges that go unnoticed.

And it isn’t only true for her. It’s true for almost everyone.

Behind every employee, leader, parent, caregiver, entrepreneur, and volunteer is an invisible load. Household responsibilities. Domestic labor. Caregiving. Mental load. The hundreds of quiet decisions that keep families, homes, businesses, and communities running every single day.

This work is often unseen. Yet it forms the foundation that supports everything else.

Supporting What Supports Everything Else.

Willow Resilient Roots™ is more than a philosophy; it’s a way of building teams and doing business.

The Willow Resilient RootsTM program is built on a simple belief: when we support the whole person, we build stronger teams, healthier workplaces, and more resilient communities. By supporting what happens beneath the surface, we help people build the capacity to grow, thrive, and weather life’s inevitable storms.

Most organizations focus on compensation, health benefits, and wellness programs. Willow Resilient Roots recognizes that something many employers still overlook; the invisible work people carry home with them, and it offers a different message:

“The strongest trees are not resilient because of what people see above the ground. They are resilient because of what supports them below the surface. People are no different.”

Willow Resilient RootsTM — Supporting What Supports Everything Else.

"We all thrive when we start by supporting people."

It’s easy to talk about people-first leadership. It’s much harder to build a thriving company on top of it in a small rural market, against long odds.

Rose did exactly that.

The philosophy shaped how she built Willow Insurance. The way she built Willow Insurance is what made it one of the most recognized independent brokerages in the province earning national award after
national award over the last decade.

That’s the part people sometimes miss. These ideas aren’t soft. They aren’t a trade-off against results. They are the reason for the results.

Willow Insurance is the proof of concept: support people as whole humans, lead with resilience, and build something real, and the success follows.

"I'm ready to inspire your audience or come alongside your organization to build it."

Rose works with organizations, conferences, and leaders ready to think differently about resilience, leadership, and what it really takes to support people. That work takes two forms.

On the stage: Speaking & Thought Leadership

In the room: Resilient Roots Consulting

For business owners and leaders who don’t just want to be inspired but want to build something that lasts.

This is where Rose goes beyond the stage. She comes alongside organizations to help them put the Resilient RootsTM philosophy into practice, translating big ideas about whole-person support into real systems that fit how their team actually works.

Working directly with owners and leadership, Rose
helps you:

  • Understand the invisible load your people carry and what it’s quietly costing your organization
  • Design support practices that strengthen retention, well-being, and culture
  • Rethink employee benefits beyond compensation and traditional wellness  programs
  • Build a workplace where people don’t just stay,
    but they thrive
  • Lead the change in a way that’s authentic to your
business, not borrowed from someone else’s

She’s not handing you a binder and walking away. She’s built a thriving, award-winning company on exactly these rinciples, and she partners with you to do the same.

Rose brings more than a résumé to either room. She has served on committees through the Insurance Brokers’ Association of Saskatchewan, spoken at the
SGI CANADA national convention as the Saskatchewan Delegate, and been featured by the media.

Whether she’s on your stage or at your table, what people remember isn’t her credentials – it’s what becomes possible once she’s in the room.
